Seizing the Day!

I keep hearing it almost every day.....Summer is almost over! People say it like it's the end of the world. It's like saying we are almost out of chocolate. Can't be! Summer may be coming to an end, but I like to think that Summer is able to be extended way into September...remember, it's Winnipeg we're talking about here...and maybe even beyond. O.K., so I see every glass as more than half full...but, we still have lots of summer left. The question that you know I'm going to ask is, "What will you do with the remainder of your summer?" My youngest daughter and myself find ourselves in Kelowna, B.C. right now and we're in a holding pattern. The plans that I made are not progressing well, and we're not sure what the next few days will hold for us. We're not even sure how we're getting back to Manitoba at this point. It's a long story and I'm not going to waste your valuable summer time with it. I will say that I am focused on trying to maximize my time here with relatives and my daughter. We're going golfing this afternoon and then maybe off to grandma's for supper. I did find time this morning to take time to reflect on what God has been teaching me this summer and that is...walk with Me! As I continue to learn what walking with God looks like through each of the dog days of summer, I'm learning that what is most important is being with Him. Not even where I am or what I had planned to do...but just, being in step with His Spirit, Listening for His voice, and trusting. Yes...trusting in His timing, His plan,His promises, and His Power.
I encourage you to take one lasting look at your spiritual walk right now and align yourself for a fall season that is in touch with God each day.
Enjoying the days of summer,
In His Grace,
Pastor Brian
