Faith in Action!

Is there any other way for faith actually be faith unless it is in action? I don't think so. This week McDermot Church is participating in our Faith in Action Solidarity Challenge. We are reducing our spending and selfish purchases and taking that money to a Missions/Benevolent offering this Sunday, Nov. 2 for the Chain of Love Missions Group. Many are eating rice and beans for every meal to identify with the millions of people around the world that only have this little bit for their food intake each day. The money saved from the groceries not purchases will be contributed to the offering as well.
Faith in Action.......that is what we are about. Moving one shade deeper, richer, more committed to the lifestyle of Jesus Christ. The host parents at Chain of Love can really use the money we are going to send so we are living our lives as a resource for the people around the world.
And if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.”
Isaiah 58:10
We want the light of Jesus to shine from our church around the world. Come this Sunday and discover what faith in action looks like. It is going to be a great Sunday.
In His Grace, eating rice and beans,

Pastor Brian
