A Taste of Reality!

Different sources will tell you and I that the majority of people around the world do not live like you and I. Their common meal is either rice or beans. So this past week I tried living like that. Rice and beans. Can't say I liked the beans very much, but I love rice so I thought this would be easy. The word on the street is that people living in much of the world only have 1 cup of rice for a meal, so I tried it. This is what I discovered. One cup of rice is not very much. One cup of rice three times a day is not very much. There is a huge amount of time between those cups of rice when I would usually eat something. I discovered how much I eat in any given day far exceeds three cups of rice. I realized that I was doing it by choice but the others in the world I was trying to identify with did not have that choice.

I am now confronted with the fact that we have been given so much in Canada compared to the rest of the world, that God must have a purpose in it. On Sunday, we took a separate Offering for a ministry in Brazil. I don't have the total yet, but I do know that it will help them immensely with their work with children.

Try rice and beans this week and with the money saved.....give it to some ministry that is helping feed others who have less.

Blessings,

Pastor Brian
