Removing Your Hat and Gloves

In Canada, the hat and mitts are two critical components for survival in the cold. They protect two very valuable aspects of our bodies....our head and our hands. The head is vital because that is where the commands for every other function are stored. Frozen noggin and you are likely in trouble. The hands don't have any brain- power but they are certainly involved in the doing aspect of your life and are thereby crucial.
When you come in from the cold, one of the first things you take off is your hat and then your gloves.
We are using these items this Sunday to draw the comparison between presenting our thoughts and actions to God for His directions in our life. Last Sunday, the Kids Church Ministry presented short drama sketches that illustrated children out in the cold. Some were there by circumstances, others by choice and still others because they simply didn't know better. The invitation to come in out of the cold cuts through our ancestry and all habits and patterns that we would like to live down or live up, through our lives. The invitation this Christmas is to step out and align our thinking and our work with God's purpose is illustrated with the removal of the Hat and gloves.
You are invited to come this Sunday and discover the warmth of His fire for your lives,
Come in....
Pastor Brian
