How many times have you intentionally made comments or acted in some what that could be called …..foolish? I don’t think anyone plans on being foolish...it just sort of happens. We are caught with our mouth or body in gear without our brain still in neutral and someone could easily observe this moment of slippage and say...what a foolish thing to say...or do!
So what’s to prevent us from living foolish lives, making foolish decisions or foolish choices?
The only solution is Wisdom!
We find in Proverbs 2 and verses 2 thru 7 the following words.
“My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” New International Version of the Bible.
This Sunday, February 11th, we are going to take a close look at wisdom and how to experience it in your daily life. As you prepare for Sunday’s worship, take a few moments and read through Proverbs chapters 1 thru 4 and write down the practical instructions that are presented. Not only will you never leave home without it...you will find that that same wisdom works wonders at home as you have to make choices and sometimes connect with others of your family. Wisdom...It is essential in this world.
